New Year
Another year had just pass and unknowingly it is year 2008 !
Went countdown last night and GOSH! the human traffic was super scary, as if, if someone fall that person will be step to death ALIVE!
Was thinking about my resolution yesterday, and I said about wanting to have a better year, doing better in this coming year 3 and also about my spitural life.
Had my QT, and read about this regrading Resolution in the new year and got some new insight.
So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?" John 21:15
what Jesus is trying to do here is actually trying to restore us when we fail Him by asking us to reaffirm our love for Him. He does not ask us to make resolution, recommitment or your promise to try harder this year. Lets think, If your resolution last year did not help you to be faithful, it will not help you successful this year. All Jesus ask is your love.
As a new year, we may be aware how we failed Him in many ways in the past, Jesus will take you aside, as He did to peter and will ask you to examine your love for Him. If your answer is like Peter "Yes, Lord". He will reaffirm His will for you.
Is'nt this picture very nice? After reading all these, I will take back my resolution I said last night and said a simple prayer:
"Yes God, in the past year, I failed you many times and not knowing what and how to do. I guess, Peter may felt the same as me wondering if I am still capable of having your love. And Jesus, yes I will say that I will try harder this year, I will love You more, but deep down in me I am not certain as well as I said the same in the past 3 years.
But God, In this year I will not make any resolution or any promises, but Jesus if You were to ask me like how you ask Peter "Do you love Me" my answer will be the same as Simon Peter "Yes Lord, I love You".
So for this year 2008 prayer, God all I wil say is "Yes Lord, I love You"." In Jesus mighty name I pray."Amen"
